OVERCOMING YOUR FEARS  [index]  [exit]

We all experience it, caller reluctance, or reluctance to speak up to someone we meet on the street.   Remember in order to be good at this, first you have to be bad, and in order to be bad, first you have to try!  I promise you it gets easier and easier.  We only do two things in Excel, gather a few customers by asking a few people for a favor (do NOT make it about rates) and find a few motivated, positive minded people who want time and money freedom.   Keep the business Simple!  I am convinced everyone you ask to be your customer who says no WILL be an Excel customer one day, either their own or someone else's.   As Brain McClure says.

Doubt will take you out of Action,
Action will take you out of Doubt!

When you talk to people remember do not focus on 'getting' them in the business, just focus on having them TAKE A LOOK at what you are doing.  Just go out and SHOW THE PLAN, and keep it FUN!   Jody

***********************
As you prepare to prospect, the first challenge you'll probably need to overcome is your own discomfort with the prospecting process.  It's understandable that most new network marketers will have some apprehension about introducing someone to a company's product line or  opportunity. This awkward or uncomfortable feeling is to be expected with any  new venture or activity.

Think back to your first date... first dance... first kiss.... Remember how nervous and uncertain you felt? Those feelings often accompany a new activity, just because it is new. You probably felt the same sensations of nervousness or being ill-at-ease when you were first learning to drive. Remember how awkward that experience seemed?  Imagine your hands gripping the steering wheel at the 10 to 2 positions.  Your seat belt, cumbersome yet carefully fastened. You would check and double check all controls, lights, mirrors, gears. The radio had to be off, so as  not to cause you distraction. You'd signal, look both ways, pull slowly into the  street and plod down the road, knifing through the wind at 10 m.p.h., just waiting for something everything to go wrong. Now recall your most recent merge up  the exit ramp of the highway: 50, 60, 70 m.p.h. A Big  Mac in one hand. A  Coke in the other. Stereo blaring. Steering with two fingers and one knee!

Prospecting is just the same. Practice will help increase your confidence level.   Every prospecting conversation can be an improvement over the last one if you set out to accomplish it that way. Competence creates confidence. Those beginning fears will soon dissolve into the comfort of a well-known routine, as you begin to trust yourself. So how do you cultivate such self-trust? By...

Creating a Vision Greater than Your Fears

Have you ever looked in your rear view mirror and seen flashing lights coming up behind you? Did you have that sinking-sick feeling in the pit of  your stomach as you pulled over? Were your hands cold and clammy... and did your  voice tremble a little as you managed a weak smile saying, Hello, Officer. Is  something wrong? Are these similar sensations to what you experience when you pick up the telephone to tell someone new about your opportunity?  If so, you've got to overcome those fears before you can be powerful in your communications and attractive to others as a prospective business partner.

Fear paralyzes people.
We're all concerned to some extent with what others will think when we make our presentation.

Will I look bad?
Will people like me?
What objections will they have?
Will I be bothering them?
Am I trying to get them to do something they don't want to do?

Whatever your concerns may be, unless your focus is on something greater than your own anxiety, you face being ineffective and even immobilized by your fears.

So what's the solution?

Simple really. Create a compelling enough reason to act that outweighs your fears. When your why or reason for being involved in network marketing is strong enough, your fears will pale in comparison.

How do you create and strengthen that vision of yours?

NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS  [index]  [exit]
***************************
by Jim Schultheis
Team!
If this is the year you are going to build a huge business, there are two things you must come to terms with...

1. If you keep doing what you are doing, you will keep getting the same results.
2. To change the results, you must change what you are doing.

Have you been thinking about your New Year's Resolutions? Well, here are some things to think about if you want to ignite your business for the Year 2000:
Work at finding people who are trying to find you. Quit trying to convince the same, tired old group you have the best business in the world....find people who want to make a change in their life and you have not talked to yet....Make new friends. Shop new places. Eat at new places. There are still 240,000,000 people who have not been in Network Marketing...and if only 5% are looking for you...that still is 12 million people. Get busy!

Work at Maximum Fire. Don't recruit for a day, then maybe 5 days later do it again. You must go all out. You must create a Heat in your words, a Fire in your Eyes, and a Flame in your Presence and work HARD when you work. It is not going to happen by wishing and complaining. Maximize your time by maximizing your Intensity. Talk to 25 people in a day for once. . . and see how it feels. Then do it again! Here is a well kept RECRUITING SECRET: People are magnetized by Intensity in Purpose...and compelled to follow it.

Be More Visible. This is the year you need to become more visible in your circles, clubs, schools, churches, organizations, job, charities, social events. . . whatever you do -- BE MORE VISIBLE! Volunteer to do more...Send out a Press Release to your local Papers on What your business is doing to make a difference in your town.....Run for a Committee Chair....Remember this New Year Recruiting Secret.....WHERE PEOPLE ARE.....BE THERE!

Be more Connected. You need to understand that the FIRST word in Network Marketing is Network! If you are going to be a massive recruiter, you must increase Connection! Write thank you cards for simple conversations, thanking folks for their time. Use e-mail more everyday to keep your name out there. Get on newsgroups and forums and create some connection with folks you do not know. Phone folks just to see how they are doing and mention how great your business is going. Get a cell phone. Get a pager. Make it easy for folks to get a hold of you to do business. And then connect more strongly with folks when you do chat with them by getting them to talk about themselves and their dreams. Do this and you will have all the info you need to Recruit them -- they just told you what they want out of life! Connect with them by showing them how you can help obtain those dreams.

Become the person you want to Recruit. Don't spend all your time looking for the "Right Person" -- BECOME the Right person! Recruiting starts with you! You will never attract anyone of a higher caliber and keep them if you have not become that yourself. READ. STUDY. LISTEN. LEARN. OBSERVE. Did you know that just about all Millionaires in Network Marketing had to work harder on themselves in the beginning than the business, because of the Fact you cannot create on the outside, what you have not become on the inside? Make a list of the traits you are looking for when you recruit, and increase and expand those traits in your own life. That will create a magnetism of amazing proportions.

Be more VALUE Focused. Simply, if folks do not perceive value in your offer, there will be no volume in your coffers. Resolve this year to create more value for people when you talk to them. Create more hope when you show them your business. Find out what they want and would be of value in their life, and then wrap your presentation around that. Focus on their dreams, not yours. Remember what they want out of life is all that matters to them. That is where the TRUE value is -- Focus on THAT Value.

To do something everyday. Recruiting is simple and easy if you get into what we call a "Recruiting Rhythm." Do something everyday and let it become a habit. Talk to someone, mail out some letters, hand out a sizzle card, post a note on forum boards, call a lead, follow up a lead, run an ad, reverse an ad, send out some e-mail, answer some e-mail with a signature at the bottom. Do whatever you like, but do it everyday and remember -- it's the small little actions done daily that create the Millions. Consistency is the Key!

WRITE YOUR 2000 GOALS DOWN   [index]  [exit]
***************************
by Jim Schultheis

Team,

Well, this is it. The end of the year and the end of the century. What an amazing time we live in, and what an amazing experience we're sharing.

What's most important right now is what you're thinking, where you are in your life, what your goals are, and what you're planning to do with the rest of your life. What are you going to do this next year, and what do you plan to do with yourself the next year, and the next?

Along with your most positive plans for the next year, here are some things I'd suggest.

1. Set goals. Now. Write them down, or type them out online. If you don't write out your goals you're not doing the single most important thing you can do to reach them.

2. Never listen to the people who tell what you CAN'T do, or what they think you're not good enough to do. They are either small, or closed-minded, or weak in spirit, or simply programmed for failure. Never let someone else's negative programs have anything to do with what you want to do with the rest of your life.

3. Improve your own Self-Talk. I don't care how good or bad it is right now, you can make it better. The Self-Talk you learn, practice, and use, right now, will always affect how well you do in the future.

4. Never expect the world to be fair to you, or to do it for you. It won't. Your future is up to you. It's up to you to take responsibility for your own happiness and success. Other people may help you, but doing it is up to you.

5. Instead of ever complaining, smile, and be happy you're alive. Practice, every day, having a good attitude. A good attitude will do more for you than you can ever imagine.

7. Spend your time with people and input that help instead of hurt. When you can, and as often as you can, only spend your precious time with people who believe in you and build you up.

8. Turn off the TV. Television is the single most destructive, time-wasting, negative programming force of the Twentieth Century. Set a goal to break the habit, and as much as you can, make the habit of idly watching television a part of the past. I know that there are a few programs worth watching, but other than those few, every single chance you get, turn it off!

9. Believe in yourself. Right now. Every day. You can reach any practical goal you set. It's okay to believe. It's what makes it work.

10. Have faith. Real faith. Believe in God and learn to recognize that faith overcomes more odds than all the worldly wisdom you will ever learn.

11. Learn to take action. Do something! Write your plan, and then do it, go for it, tackle it, and get it done. People who have a plan, and take action, always, in the long run, do better that people who don't.

12. Never stop. Never give up. Keep going. Don't stop. Don't quit. Get up, start again, and never ever give up. When you think it's over, it isn't. Get up and start again. Every new day is just the beginning.

Most of what I said in that message has been said many times before - but truth is still the truth. You and I are living in an incredible time. Let's make the best of it! I plan to. I know you will too! Have a happy, successful, responsible, loving, caring, productive, prosperous new year.

Jim sends cheers from beautiful Ft Walton Beach, Florida

PS -- If you have read this far, please take the next 30 minutes to an hour and perform the actions in paragraph #1 and #11 above. If you actually do this, I would appreciate it if you would TELL me that you did it. ( I don't need to know what you wrote, just that you wrote something.) Why? I'm going to do some unscientific research this year. I want to see if there is a big difference in the performance of the 10% or so who actually write their goal on paper and the 90% who don't. So, if you do it, let me know.

It's perfectly OK with me if you don't bother to write down your goals. After all, I need TWO groups so I can make comparisons of their successes. Either way, I wish you a very prosperous New Year, Decade, Century and Millennium.

INCREDIBLE TIMES AHEAD   [index]  [exit]

What an incredible time to be part of this wonderful company.

I hope that all of you know just how lucky that we are to be a part of this company. Timing is more important than ability or education or just about anything that you could think of. I would have rather been Henry Ford's first janitor than to have a big degree and start to work with a car company today.
I am amazed today at how much we are on the front end of the greatest opportunity that has ever taken place in the free enterprise system. We will be looked at as the "pioneers" of this new age.

In the last three weeks, I have been able to recruit 11 people on my wife, Linda, first level. She had not gotten excited about excel before e-commerce. Just over hearing me talk to people on the phone, she went to her home town three weeks ago, and came home with three checks made out to Excel to become reps, and I ask her how she did that and she replied, "I ask them if they new anybody that ever bought anything off the inter net, and when they said sure, she said you should do this and it cost $245 and my husband will tell you how you can have your own super store. Thus far, we have recruited 11 out of 15 for her, and 7 for them, and I have added 3 on my first level. All on the phone, all signing up at the web site. This has truly been the most incredible time of my life.

My e-mail address is: rckesd@excelonline.com
my super store is www.excelir.com/kirkland
Please believe me, there will never be a time as good as the next five years will bring, and I hope that all of you will know that now is the best time ever.

MIND GAMES    [index]  [exit]
************************
XLO Everyone,

There will be many times in your Excel career that you will feel the urge to quit. Many obstacles are yet to be faced with our company and your business and yet it is the obstacles that are in your mind in which you must overcome first. Don't let mind games take you out of this business. Your not out there alone. Been there done that! We all have had doubt at one time or another. When another rep quits in your downline, a potential customer says "NO", a customer drops the service, your customer count drops below 20, your coding check doesn't come on time when you are counting on it, when a service is not available in your area, you don't get your fast start money because of 60 days are up or a simple noshow happens it can be discouraging and to some devastating. It is at that moment when negative thoughts creep into your subconscious and tell you "This thing doesn't work" or "Why are you doing this?" This is the time that you will hear from someone in your family to say "go out and get a REAL job". This is the exact time when you must fight with yourself. Your belief is at stake and more important is your financial freedom.

Finding ways to help make things positive aren't that hard, but might seem hard at that moment. This is the time when you have to pull yourself up and get back on the horse. This is the time when you must call out to you inter strengths. Everyone has it. It's the part of you that you WANT to come out. It's the side that says things like "You can do it!" or "I can do better and I want to win!" Start repeating positive affirmations when you have doubt. Write those affirmations down on paper and put them everywhere in your office or home. Who cares what anybody else thinks. Just do it. You want be sorry what suddenly start happening. You will start becoming aware of your positive mental strengths and use those forces to fight negativism when it comes around. You will become a more positive person and reach that next level of mental strength that few find. Why don't they reach that level? Because they don't write them down and repeat it everyday.

When you doubt yourself or your company go out and talk to someone. Get plugged in again. Put some action into your business. You can't afford at that moment to be stagnant or procrastinate at this time. Go to a meeting, listen to TelWorks, do a 3-way with your sponsor and listen to a conference call, call your upline or better yet go get another customer or rep. Tell yourself that you aren't going to quit until I get a yes. Make it a point to repeat your positive affirmations and remember it's never as bad as it seems. Always keep reminding yourself of your WHY. Why are you doing this business? Have you written that down yet? Why not? Start now to put in progress the seeds of faith that will keep you from ever quitting Excel. Write positive affirmations and write down your WHY. These positive seeds will grow and grow and no one, I MEAN NO ONE will ever stop you from the success that you so rightly deserve.

Believe and Succeed,
Quincy Scarborough RD/NTD

FULL TIME WITH EXCEL   [index]  [exit]
************************
I have been full time with Excel for almost 2 years now. There are a few things that I suggest when you go full time with Excel. These are going to be rambling thoughts and in no order what so ever so they might go from the beginning to the end to the middle and back again ... here we go.

1. I HIGHLY suggest that your income with Excel is enough that you can live off of that every month comfortably, you DO NOT want to sound or be desperate when speaking with a prospect. I would say, you should have enough in the bank to cover expenses for at least 2 months or so. I would also say that your income with Excel should be able to pay for your mortgage, electric, food and other utilities. My personal feeling is you should be making at least $2000 - $3000 per month (depending on your expenses).

2. Health care, for me that was not an issue because of the military coverage. But if I did not have that, I would check out how much health care would be for you and your family. You really do not want to get stuck with medical bills.

3. Treat your business just like a business or just like a JOB. Get up in the morning and take a shower first thing, you sound better on the phone when you are dressed and ready to go rather than when you are in your PJ's. I have personally tried both ways and I am just WAY too relaxed in my PJ's.

4. Have a business plan. At the beginning of every month I make a "Plan of Action." I set a goal for how many people I want to sponsor and how many new commercial accounts and residential accounts that I want to obtain that month.

5. I recommend setting up a tickler file (you can get some idea's from the Successline web site) Get a Index card holder and index cards, along with the cards for the entire years and the dated ones as well 1-31. I write everything on these cards .. what we talk about in our conversation .. "Wife works at Walmart, Hubby wants a new car, kids are getting ready for college, 7th Anniversary coming up." This way when I call I can say "Bill, did you get that new car you wanted ? How is Jamie's job at Walmart, working long hours ? Did you decide on a college yet for the kids ? What do you think you are going to get Jamie for your Anniversary, (this is a perfect place to bring up E-Commerce) ya know, I bet you could get Jamie something on your own IR Homesite when you become a rep this month. What a rebate that would be on the gift huh !! ?? "
With doing this, you are making it so you have some "conversation" with them instead of just calling for Excel, you BECOME their friend in essence and they start to trust you.

6. I address everyone buy their name a lot. I always want them to feel comfortable and know that I think they are important. I listen to everything they say and I write it down in my tickler file later for future reference.

7. The 3 foot rule .. is not a rule for me, it is my life. I do not set out to do that, I actually do that naturally so I did not have to work on that. I know that it is very hard for some people to start not only a conversation, but how to bring up Excel in that conversation. I ask a lot of questions about that person. Sometimes I might not ever bring up Excel in our first conversation if I know that I will be speaking with them again (Warm market). If it is my cold market, I use what ever they have told me to formulate what I will say to them about Excel. Not every person is the same so I can not say that I have a "set" things that I say to anyone. I ask questions about work, kids, future plans, vacation, new things they want to buy, if work is getting stressful, long hours, short pay, sports for the adults and kids anything that I can think of I ask
!!! If I am in a grocery store, I will talk about let's say ... "Geez, can you believe how much milk has gone up in the past year or so?" You can talk about almost anything in and it will get people talking. The key is to LISTEN and not pounce on them about Excel. DO NOT make the conversation about Excel, make it about THEM !! Everything you do in Excel should be about them and not you. If you remember that .. you will go so far !!

8. Call on commercial accounts in your area. Call on at least one a day.

9. Remember to always talk about tangibles and not intangibles. People need things that they can achieve. Make everything you say fit into their life and life style.

10. HAVE FUN at what you are doing.

11. I would also highly suggest printing out the forms from Successline I cant remember what they are called right this second, but I personally use them. It is the one that you track your progress daily and monthly. I try to keep mine in the 75-95 point range, that works for me. Set a goal for you. Try this for at least one month.

I am sure that I could say so much more but this is long enough already, and as everyone knows ... you have to put your own style into everything that you do. What I do might work for me and not for you and vice versa. These are the things that work for me.

I hope that this helps and good luck with what you decide about going full time.

Take care of you,

OR WORK IT PART TIME   [index]  [exit]
************************
Hi all-
Wow, Aimee, great advice...will be hard to top that. But here is my two cents worth...

I don't really do Excel full time...my husband works a full time job (Steve is a retired after twenty years Air Force Officer) for a major corporation here in Wichita. I would call that FULL TIME work! I would say he works his job full time. My Excel business however, I do it when I go out...go to the grocery store, mail a letter, dry cleaners, gas station, hair cut etc! Also, when I answer the phone during the day. I take every single telemarketing call that comes in. That is the perfect opportunity to share this opportunity with an outgoing, friendly person who is already good at talking to strangers! Networkers.

Another example, I went to the mall with my daughter tonight. As usual she went into the dressing room with 27 things, while I was "stuck" on the other side of the door waiting patiently. Just so happens that the salesgirl started talking to me, and we had just the nicest conversation! Then, I started to do what Aimee was talking about, listen to her needs, her life, her dreams. She told me about her boyfriend...I asked...what does he do, she said, oh he is an entrepreneur (BINGO!) Oh really, I said. You can figure out where the rest of the conversation went. WE have an appointment tomorrow, her and her boyfriend. Meet at the food court on the mall (her environment) and sign her up. So, I did not plan to do Excel when I went out tonight, it just happens as you open yourself up to the conversations with others, and listen carefully to what they are saying. In this case, this girl hated her job...a dead end job as a sales girl in a clothing store...now really!

Steve and I plan on retiring soon on the income we are making with our Excel business. But not until we feel comfortable with that decision and confident that the bills can be paid, and we are comfortable with our decision. For many, it is just an individual thing. I think that if I were to really apply myself and focus more, I could be more successful with Excel, but really, doing Excel is not all about making a lot of money, it is about making alot of freedom for yourself and your family also. That is what I have right now, and it is a contentful feeling.

There are many other things I could share, but I have probably rambled on enough. Like Aimee said, each person is different and you have to carve your own niche in Excel. Then, pave the way for the generations you leave behind, for it will be a much smoother path.

One concept I was thinking about tonight, and I will share just this one more thought, then close. For any of us who are "moms" out there, doing Excel, perhaps you would relate to this a little more. But, when you have a baby, say a little boy...he starts out so little, so dependent on you. You nurture him, feed him and assist him with just about every little chore...but it is a day by day effort on your part to "grow him up" so to speak. We get lost in the day to day efforts and challenges of raising this little guy. We neglect to sometimes look at the big picture, the vision we have for him to someday grow up and become a strong young man. We get caught up in the little things. Alot like our Excel businesses...every day, we get up, shower, put on nice clothes,
tackle our to do lists, etc. It is a day-to-day effort to do Excel, to build it, nurture it...but never neglect to see the big picture, stay focused on the dream of some day, having the biggest downline in the history of Excel! Just like that little boy, it took a whole lot of day-to-day efforts to grow him up, but the rewards are great when you see him take his first steps, and his first jumps on the basketball court. Stay focused on the future...and when your Excel business begins to take giant leaps, remember it all began with just a few baby steps...

Sincerely,
Laura Robinson -Regional Director
Wichita, KS

WHY I LOVE EXCEL   [index]  [exit]
************************
How many J.O.B.s out there do you know of where you can have a beautiful, striped tiger "Morris" cat on your lap while you are "working"? ... Just another reason why I LOVE EXCEL.
Why do you LOVE EXCEL? Share with us please...

Fun question, Laura. I'm just going to write my personal reasons here because they're the ones I'm mulling about tonight. While these might seem like a lot of small things, they're significant to me.

Since Excel became a major part of our life, I particularly like the way our days begin. When I wake up in the morning my husband and I spend some time talking in bed before we get up (a real luxury). Then we do a little stretching, go for a walk/jog around the neighborhood, and make breakfast together.

When we both used to work at the clinic we rushed out the door to get there by 7 or 8am for our first appointments. We both worked at different clinics, too, so we didn't see each other again till 7:30 or 8 at night when we'd usually swing by the store, get take-out food for dinner, eat it, watch a video and flop into bed.

These days are very different. Now my workday begins when I call the kitties and say, "Where are my office assistants? It's time to go to work around here!" and they trit-trot into the office with me and take up their positions to either side of my desk. They're very good paperweights and occasionally one of them does a great job rubbing my computer screen allover to rid it of dust build-up.

I know some people get dressed up to work at home, but after twenty years of dressing up for work, I know I do better work when I'm comfortable. Fashion choice? Sheepskin slippers.

At work I used to take breaks and go outside where I could breathe fresh freeway/airport air in the parking lot. Now when I take a break it's usually to walk out to the garden and pick some salad greens for lunch (yep, the garden's still blooming out here in the rainy northwest). And my cats come along to point out squirrels and birds nearby.

Another small gift from Excel is that, for the first time in my life, I now cook. I never did that before. Ever. Now I actually read cookbooks and whip up a little roast lamb, fresh bruschetta or a spiced apple cake on whim. Because I'm in control of what and when I eat, we eat far healthier that we used to.

These may seem like the smallest little things, but a great part of life is made up of small things and they are important. I see that due to Excel, the quality of my life has made vast leaps forward because I have time to appreciate the pleasure of two cats on my desk, fuzzy slippers on my feet, eating home-grown carrots and vacations when I feel like we can use one.

In the past two years we've paid off tens of thousands of dollars of debt (something we're very proud of finally doing) and even tithed a portion of our income on an ongoing basis to our and our customers' favorite charities and that's the frosting on the cake. Because of Excel we've improved our financial situation and helped others along the way. That feels really good.

Our original goal when we joined Excel was to get out of debt -- an impossibly huge task at the time. We're very close. For those fellow debt-load carriers, I'm sure you know what a big deal this is.

I'm looking forward to reading some other "why I love Excel" stories here. I always find the personal Excel stories marvelously inspiring.

warmly,

COLD MARKET PROSPECTING    [index]  [exit]
************************
Since many people have been asking for this I thought I would send this out to you regarding gathering customers in your community business to business cold call. Here is the script I use:
Good morning, I'm a local businessman from here in the area and I'm currently expanding my business here in town and was wondering if I could ask you a quick question? (They will always say sure, or direct you to the owner or manager).
If I could prove to you that I could reduce the amount your mailing in each month to GTE, would that interest you?
THAT'S IT! Ask them for a copy of their phone bill and then show them your ORIGINAL (not copy) phone bill. It's pretty easy to see the savings. It works best with a 7 cent phone bill which is the plan I'm on. Most small businesses are paying anywhere between 10 - 28 cents per minute. This is FUN!

Memorize this and watch what happens. This is designed for small businesses. The big market is the cold market so if you have run out of your warm market here is another way to gather customers. By the way since Dec. 27th I have gathered 22 customers and 5 new pagers using this! It works. Another point here you usually get 2 for 1. What I mean is if your getting their business you then say I will do the same for you for your home phone as well, what is the number.... be assumptive! How did I get the pager sales? I said after I gathered their customer information, as a thank you for being my customer I'm able to offer you up to 2 FREE pagers. WOULD YOU LIKE THEM? What do you think people will say to you if you ask that way.
Again TRY IT!

Closing comment. Why would you gather these types of customers when all we are suppose to do is gather a few loyal customers. Well I've been doing this business for over 5 1/2 years and since Kenny is about to pay LDU to unlimited levels if you have at least $3,000 of personal volume I don't want to miss out on that, do you?

Good luck to you all. Let me know how you do if you decide to try this method. I love it!

WHY KENNY IS 'ALL FIRED UP'    [index]  [exit]
************************
Holly Minor hosted Kenny Troutt as the 'guest' on XLTV (live) last nite at 8:30 and 10:30PM EST.

Kenny is ALL FIRED UP!! (as always) about the future of Excel and our businesses! He talked for about 15 minutes and they were really Exciting!

He talked about the three areas of Excel that excite him:

1) We've built a multi-billion dollar business on one product - $25 customer long distance and now we're going forward with expansion into many, many products, effectively a product factory where we will have (beginning very soon) a 'product of the month' -- some products will be 'big' and some will be 'little', but ALL will be additional avenues of opportunity for all of us to build our Excel rep businesses.

2) International Expansion. We've QUICKLY built an tremendous and record-breaking network marketing business in Canada (In 6 months we sponsored and signed over 120 thousand customers, where, in 6 years, AT&T only acquired 240 thousand). AND it's already starting to come back! Excel reps we sponsored in Canada are sponsoring people they know in the USA!! Now, starting, sometime in 2000, with the UK, we are going to be going to a global size. But there's more to that than it sounds! Like with the Canadians coming to the USA, the UKers will come to Canada and the USA AND Europe and Asia and South America, just like
we will! BUT --- We, the reps in the USA STARTED IT ALL, and ALL of those reps in Canada, the UK, Europe and Asia and South America have UPlines in the USA!! Is that BIG enough for you? (I just adlibbed here, but I couldn't help it!!!!)

3) The BIGGEST and most exciting thing about the future, to Kenny, is E-commerce! He flat out said -- just the commissions from e-commerce are going to make Excel CODING look like chump change! (Adlibbing again -- Try to get your mind around THAT! Excel coding pay is THE most phenomenal compensation structure EVER built into a network marketing structure and Kenny is saying it's CHUMP CHANGE!!! Awesome!!!)

He talked a lot about selling cars and refinancing mortgages and so on and every one of those services and products purchased online by an Excel customer or rep is going to pay commissions.

He ALSO said that --> The current MySuperStore is just a market study!!! It's not even the real thing, just the outline, a test, a study to see how things work!!! AMAZING!!

BUT;!!! The most meaningful thing he said in the whole 15 minutes, in my opinion, is that Excel is the ONLY company in the industry (MLM) that knows every customer and his/her address and phone number. That means we OWN our customers. That means when a new product or service comes out, each of us can simply contact each of our personal, loyal 20 or 30 or 40 or 50 customers, and say "HI!! How about TRYING my new service/product/website/bank.......!?" Because, as Excel reps, we will not have to go out and try to find the business, or sign up everybody on the Internet to get them to come to our, personal website! NO --- we can JUST ask our own, personal, loyal customer to try another of the services/products we offer, which they already use or are going to!

We Do Not have to go and get listed on all the search engines on the 'net and try to get exposure! We just have to have:

A few loyal customers who will TRY our products and services

-and-

A few reps we have sponsored and trained to do the same 2 things!

It's STILL SIMPLE!!!

Do you all get it? Is the year 2000 going to be totally AWESOME for all of us?

The Millennial Money Machine is JUST another program to get us to build a loyal, personal customer base to take a parade of new products and services to!

It's so simple.... customers --- reps, repeat...

Santa Claus has already arrived, and it'll take him YEARS to deliver all the goodies he has for us!

Have a GREAT and Wonderful Holiday Season, and let's all be looking toward the year 2000 with a child's eyes!! 8-)

ARE YOU NORMAL?   [index]  [exit]
***************************
Of course your NOT! Or you would not be reading this! GREAT Message be sure and read this one thru you guys!!! Jody

Note: About a year ago, then-ED Carol Totten from Indiana was the guest speaker at the Worcester, MA, Monday night BP. Carol celebrated her second anniversary in the Excel business the very next day, and I tell you: that woman is so enthusiastic about this business her hair was on fire!

Carol's personal story is terrific: Her husband worked 18-hour days for nearly 26 years - and missed the first 16 years of their daughters' lives. Thanks to Carol's belief, work, and perseverance, he is now retired from that craziness and works Excel with her!

Carol says that as a full-time homemaker all those years, she had NO warm market because she had NO social life. So she talked to "strangers" - any- and everyone she met. If you get a chance to hear her, grab it! This article originally appeared in the February '98 edition of Carol's rep newsletter, One Player Away.

Normal people are people who have large credit card debts.
Normal people are people who live for the week-ends!.
Normal people are those who work until they are 65 and (if they are healthy enough to work), then have to get a part-time job, just to survive.
Normal people are people who live from paycheck to paycheck and the money usually doesn't stretch from one to another.
Normal people are people who are always looking for a career and don't understand that those are long gone!
Normal people reach age 65 and cannot write a check for $2000. They did not plan it that way, but those are the facts.
Normal people are people who dream of their children going to the best universities, but when the time comes, there's nothing there!
Normal people are people who dream of an early retirement, but aren't willing to be abnormal to make it happen!
Please do not be surprised or shocked when people say "no" to your opportunity or turn their noses up to your suggestion on how they can achieve some of their dreams through the Excel Plan.
They are NORMAL!

Those of us who are building an Excel business are NOT NORMAL. We do not want to fall into the same trap most Americans fall into, but we are willing to do something about it. So do not be discouraged when your success takes a detour from where you really want it to be. Keep focused and remember; about 10% of the people out there are NOT NORMAL and will be willing to grasp the opportunity when presented to them. They are people just like you and me who are waiting for someone to enter their lives and show them a way to change the direction in which they are headed.

Very Important: When you encounter someone who rejects you, just remember: they are NORMAL, and nothing you can do or say will change their destiny. You must talk with many NORMAL people to find the NOT SO NORMAL people. So accept the challenge in 2000 to work very hard to sort through NORMAL people until you find the ones who will say, "YES,YES, YES, where have you been? I have been waiting for you to find me!"

I don't know if I've told you that I got this video, IT IS THE GREATEST!!!!!! Always Excel, always, Sherry
Original Message:
Dear Excel Reps:
I just watched the new video "A Reality Check", hosted by Jack Grossman. It is comparable to "Brilliant Compensation", but at least 100 times better! It is generic in nature, promoting the Network Marketing Industry as a whole. It features some very powerful testimonials from Betty Miles, Mike Rose, and Burke Hedges. Burke has sold over 2.5 million books on Network Marketing, and discusses e-commerce and the internet explosion in an extensive interview with Jack...it is powerful!!! I don't see how anyone could watch this tape and not get involved right away! Burke's book is also very powerful and is available at a discount when ordered through www.arealitycheck.com

or by calling 1-888-813-1113. Betty's book "The New American Dream" and other educational, motivational and inspirational items are also available at discount's on the website, which is scheduled to open today. Check it out! Jack has helped so many people from so many downlines to build their businesses, and everyone would always ask him if he had a video they could use when he wasn't around! Well, here it is! I think that this is the best tool I've ever seen!

NETWORK MARKETING MANUAL - IT'S GREAT!   [index]  [exit]
************************
Hi Gang, this manual is a MUST READ! It's a steal for only $15, ORDER YOURS TODAY by visiting  http://www.netwinning.com/   or Call 888-272-U-CAN

here is a word from Capt. Chris on the subject!

Ahoy Crew!
I am not real good at following orders, but when a rep who I really respect told me to get this book I did. I immediately went to the site and ordered the book. It came two days before New Years, and I could not pry it away from Anne. Judy came over and tried to borrow it, but I was a "bad" sponsor and would not lend it to her until I had read it. <grin>

Ok, I have read it cover to cover twice, and have decided it is so important, so right on, and so vital, that it will be our first group reading/discussion book. So would all who wish to participate please go to http://www.netwinning.com/   and order a copy. There are four main sections, and we can discuss one section per week, starting in Feb. $15.00 a copy with $3.50 for shipping and Handling.

Trouble getting your customers from Pending to Active? [index]  [exit]
************************
Excel Team:

Excel has just put in a toll-free number for your customers to call if they are having problems getting activated -- 877-747-4230.  The customer has to make the call because, when they do, Excel will 3-way them RIGHT THEN to the LEC to get them activated RIGHT THEN!!! (Or, within the 48 hours or so the LEC has to switch them, anyway.)

Evidently, there has been widespread problems with customers not being activated.  I've personally been fighting over every single one of one of my downline's customers.  First, the LEC won't switch them -- say they didn't get the "word" from Excel.  Then, the customer calls the 700 number and the recording says they're on Excel.  However, the Rep calls in and Excel's computers say the customer is pending.  Problem seems to be that the LEC is not notifying Excel properly.

Anyway, the GREAT news is -- we now have help!!!  THANK YOU LAURA COLLINS!!!!   (Who, by the way, instituted this change.)  And, word has it she's instituted SEVERAL changes that we'll hear about soon that will make our lives even easier!!!

Steph

BTW
Laura is forming a Resolution Team for "escalated issues" that can't seem to be solved through ordinary channels. She doesn't want to see Reps being "bounced" back and forth, and want our issues taken care of quickly. By the way, until the Resolution Team is in place, if anyone has a real "escalated issue," Laura's e-mail is lcollins@excel.com. She really wants to be accessible in the interim.
